Kameh's directions for AHL player model VGUIs. (Some editing to cut out the rest of the conversation) Open up PS. Go to the history, actions, and tool presets window. Click on the actions tab, then click on the right arrow on the right of that window go down to "load actions." Load the action (sprites.atn) from the zip. Load vguiplayertemplate (like, go to file, open). So you've got the action loaded and vguiplayertemplate open and ready for some hot vgui lovin'. Go to your favorite rendering program. Get a picture of your model in your favorite seductive pose, or whatever strikes your fancy. Make sure it's against a green background. Like bright, pure green (helps when you're using the magic wand). When you've got the lighting right and the pose ok, go ahead and render. If it's just HLMV, print screen. Either way, once you're satisfied, print screen. Go over to Photo Shop. Go to file -> new It should ask you if you want to make a new document that is the size of your monitor's resolution, blank/transparent background. Press ctrl+v to paste it. Use the rectangle tool to draw a box around the model. While the box is still active, press w to change to the magic wand tool. Set the tolerance to 1. Hold alt when you've got the magic wand tool set and click in the green. It should make a marching-ant-line around the model. Press ctrl+c to copy it. Go to file, new. Paste it in its own document. Press Ctrl+t to resize it It's gotta fit inside the white borders in the vguitemplate. When it's resized, go to the vguitemplate and select the weapon render layer (ctrl+a). Press the delete key. This will delete the placeholder model (which should be O). Then ctrl+v in the same layer (weapon render), and it should paste the model in that layer. Press ctrl+t. Mess with the width and height percentages until he fits inside the white lines. He can touch them, but he can't go over them, otherwise it will mess up the glow effect. When you're all set, press f4 (the key that is bound for the vgui action) and voila. Just to be sure, when the action has run, press the eye next to the "Background" layer and it gets rid of the black background. Save it as a 32-bit targa file. Make sure it's saved as 640_[model's name].tga That's all there is to it. Takes about 3 minutes to do.
